Star Shoes Project
ARCO was engineered and designed by A’RCOPEDICO, leveraging its 60 years of expertise. STAR SHOES was a bold global project aimed to study the human foot at a worldwide scale. In collaboration with INEGI – Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (University of Porto), A’RCOPEDICO analyzed over 2.500 footwear consumers, creating the world’s largest footprint database. The findings were unanimous: shoes with customized insoles reduce maximum pressure values and promote a more even pressure distribution.
How were these results translated into ARCO footwear?
An outbreaking sole with improved support and a post in the midfoot region on the external part of the outsole, allowing for differentiated cushioning and stability. The STAR SHOES findings served as the connecting elements between design and performance, bringing a more commercial approach to comfort footwear.
Upper construction
Air mesh: engineered air mesh with a 3D fit structure, made from 94% recycled post-consumer polyester.
Heel lock: heel lock system for stability and a secure fit
